The Downtown Minneapolis Street Art Festival takes place on Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10, 2025, bringing sidewalks to life with color, creativity, and community along the iconic Nicollet Mall.
This free and family-friendly event transforms the heart of downtown Minneapolis into an urban art gallery filled with chalk murals, spray-painted masterpieces, live performances, and hands-on art activities for all ages.

Hosted by the Mpls Downtown Improvement District, this weekend event is a highlight of summer in Minneapolis and draws 20,000+ attendees each year.
Watch in real time as talented chalk artists create stunning large-scale murals right on the pavement. From realistic portraits to surreal landscapes, these works of art will stop you in your tracks.
