This year’s Space Fest theme, Love Letter to Earth, celebrates our home planet and explores how space science helps us better understand and care for it.
Through art, storytelling, astronomy, and interactive science experiences, visitors are invited to reflect on what makes Earth extraordinary. It’s thoughtful, creative, and surprisingly moving, while still being incredibly fun for kids and adults alike.
Kick off the weekend with the Star Party on Friday evening.
If skies are clear, telescopes will be set up outside so guests can view celestial objects. Inside, you’ll find space-themed activities and planetarium experiences to get you in the cosmic spirit.
This portion of Space Fest is free and open to the public, making it one of the best free family activities in St. Paul this February.
Create your own Earth-from-orbit diorama and see our planet from a whole new perspective. This hands-on activity is perfect for kids and creative adults.
Write a message to our planet and explore submissions from others. It’s a beautiful way to connect science with emotion and community.
Hear from former NASA astronaut Bob Cabana during a live presentation and meet-and-greet opportunity. For space enthusiasts, this is a rare chance to hear firsthand stories from someone who has actually been there.
A quieter, more accessible experience with reduced lighting and sound levels. Families who benefit from lower-stimulus environments will appreciate this thoughtful option.
Young explorers can enjoy science-themed story sessions designed to spark curiosity about space and Earth.
Throughout the weekend, you’ll also find short expert talks, Q&A sessions, and planetarium programming.
Daytime Admission (Saturday & Sunday):
Approximately $15 per person
Includes access to Space Fest activities and museum exhibits.
Planetarium shows may require separate or combo ticketing.
