Facial hair fanatics will be pleased to learn that the Minnesota Beard-Off is back! On Saturday, February 9th, the Minnesota Beard-Off will be held at First Avenue, one of four competitions to be held across the US to determine who has the best beard. Doors to the event open at 8:00 p.m. (contest to begin at 9:00), featuring live music brought from Silverback Colony.
Enter your facial mane to compete for the honor of Beardsman, or cheer on all of the fine contenders. Unable to grow a beard? Facial hairless men and women can compete in the freestyle category by submitting fake beard entries (the more creative, the better!).
Three judges will determine the top three contenders in each category and the four first place winners will compete for the grand prize: title of 2013 Beardsman (along with a medal). Beard-Off categories are a modified version of the official categories for the World Beard and Moustache Championships.
Registration is now open! Interested participants can enter now and up until the day of the event. Tease, comb, and wax your precious man locks (or faux locks) into place and see if you have what it takes to be awarded the title of this year’s Beardsman. Tickets to the event are $10.00 in advance (get your tickets online) and $10.00 at the door. This is an 18+ event. The Minnesota Beard-Off is ponsored by Yelp! and Beardcore St. Croix Chapter.
