Day 338: Dining Out For Life 2011

Everyone loves to dine out at least once in a while. I've lived alone or with roommates most of my adult life. Cooking for one is not always an inviting prospect, so I've dined out often. It can get expensive if you do it all the time, but we pay for the experience, mostly. And many of us willing to shell out the bucks for it.

If you're forking over your hard earned cash for the experience of dining out, why not be sure said funds are going to a worthy cause? At least for a day.

This Thursday, April 28th, Al Vento, Birchwood Cafe, Fire Lake Grill, Fusion, Brasa Rotisserie, Herkimer, and over 145 other restaurants will participate in donating a portion of their earnings for, breakfast, lunch, dinner, or all 3 to The Aliveness Project, a community center located in South Minneapolis that provides services and programs to the HIV/AIDS community.

All you have to do is show up, order and pay your bill like you always do, and the restaurant will take care of the rest. A portion of your dollars will then be given to The Aliveness Project and will directly benefit people in our own community.

KARE 11's own Sven Sundgaard is the spokesperson and will be out all day on April 28 dining out all around the metro area.

Need to grab a quick lunch and get back to the office? Don't feel like cooking dinner? Head out to one of the more than 150 participating restaurants and make your dollars count by helping people in our community.
