Minneapolis is known for its beautiful lakes and Calhoun tops the list of the dozen lakes within its city limits. Recreational opportunities abound here. There are paved paths for walking, running, and biking, there's sailing, fishing--even archery and volleyball on its shores.
If beaches are your thing, there are a few of those to be seen as you go around the lake as well, so lake swimmers rejoice!
A beautiful lake, Calhoun offers great photo opportunities year round, whether you're a serious DSLR/SLR photographer, or a "phonetographer" (take pics on your phone). Actually, the shots of the lake pictured here were taken on an iPhone 4, and an iPhone 3GS, respectively.
No matter what the season, it's always a perfect day to hit Calhoun for some exercise, fresh air, and fun!
