Burnsville Festival & Fire Muster 2025: Your Free Family Weekend Guide (Sept 4–6)

The Burnsville Festival & Fire Muster is back September 4–6, 2025, and it’s bigger, brighter, and more community-driven than ever. This free three-day celebration is Burnsville’s oldest and largest fundraising festival, blending tradition with modern fun for the whole family.

What Makes the Festival Special?

This isn’t just another community event—it’s a true celebration of Burnsville’s rich culture and history.

  • Completely free to attend and supports local nonprofits.

  • Features multicultural performances, arts, education, public safety, agriculture, and more.

  • Powered by 100+ volunteers and in partnership with the City of Burnsville.

  • Rooted in tradition, the festival began in 1980 with a firefighter’s dream of a parade—and grew into what we enjoy today.

Festival Schedule: September 4–6, 2025

Thursday, September 4 – Kickoff Night

  • All day: Festival Medallion Hunt across Burnsville parks

  • 5:00–8:30 PM: Food Truck Festival and Block Party at Nicollet Commons Park / Ames Center Plaza

  • 5:30–8:30 PM: Live music by Free & Easy Band

  • 6:00–8:00 PM: Craft beer tasting and food sampling

Friday, September 5 – Family Fun & Fireworks

  • Free bus service begins at 3:35 PM from Burnsville Transit Station to Civic Center Park

  • 5:00–8:00 PM: Carnival rides, Inflatable Zone, Kidz Korner

  • 5:00–11:00 PM: Food vendors, beer tents, VIP area, bingo, and merchandise

  • Live music: Old School 191 (5:30–6:30 PM) and Johnny Holm Band (7:30–11:00 PM)

  • 6:00–10:00 PM: Fire truck display

  • 9:40–10:00 PM: Fireworks show

Saturday, September 6 – Parade, Drones & Big Finale

  • 8:00 AM–5:00 PM: Pickleball Tournament

  • 11:00 AM–1:00 PM: Fire Truck & Community Parade

  • 12:00–8:00 PM: Carnival rides, Inflatable Zone, Kidz Korner, and Baby Crawl Races (1:00 PM)

  • 1:00–11:00 PM: Bingo, multicultural stage, sensory-friendly zones, big-wheel races, K9 show, Zombie Garage Zone, and live entertainment

  • Headliner: Fleetwood Mask Band (8:00–11:00 PM)

  • 9:25–9:40 PM: Drone show

  • 9:40–10:00 PM: Fireworks finale

Safety & Entry Policies

To keep everyone safe and comfortable, the festival has new policies in place:

  • Festival area fenced with three secured entry points (metal detectors and bag check).

  • No coolers, pets, weapons, or outside food/drink (except registered service dogs).

  • Unsupervised minor policy: By 8:00 PM, anyone 17 & under must be with a parent/guardian. Carnival rides and games close at 8:00 PM.
